Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) held its 10th annual convocation on Monday (December 22, 2025), conferring a total of 2,095 degrees, which included 50 PhDs, 698 postgraduate degrees, and 1,347 undergraduate degrees. Additionally, 107 gold medals were awarded to students for outstanding academic performance.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Navakant Bhat, Dean of the Division of Interdisciplinary Science and Professor at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering, IISc, highlighted that the graduating students belong to Generation Z, a generation shaped by rapid digital transformation. He noted the dramatic rise in global internet access — from less than 5% in 2000 to nearly 70% today.

Emphasising the transformative impact of artificial intelligence, Prof. Bhat remarked that tools such as Large Language Models are reshaping education, while cautioning about the growing energy demands of data centers. He also observed that India is poised to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2028.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. M. R. Jayaram urged graduates to think differently and contribute meaningfully to society. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina reaffirmed RUAS’s commitment to fostering innovation, research, and entrepreneurship.
