South Coast Railway (SCoR) concluded its ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ fortnight with a plantation drive at Mudasarlova on Gandhi Jayanti on Friday. The campaign, held from September 17-October 2, focused on cleanliness, waste segregation, recycling, water conservation, green plantations and eliminating single-use plastics, according to SCoR.
The railway said more than 40,000 personnel participated in cleanliness drives, awareness rallies and ecological conservation activities across the zone. It said over 50,000 saplings were planted at railway colonies, stations, workshops and office complexes. General Manager Sandeep Mathur, along with senior officials, led the plantation drive at the under-construction zonal headquarters site at Mudasarlova. He administered the Swachhata pledge and urged staff to devote one hour daily to cleanliness and environmental conservation.
