Seven arrested for sacrificing goat in public in East Godavari district

The East Godavari police arrested seven persons, who allegedly created nuisance in Chodavaram village, in Nallajarla mandal, by sacrificing a goat in front of a flexi of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday.

With the video clipping of the brutal act going viral, police arrested the accused on Saturday (Deccember 27). “We have registered a case and arrested the accused in Chodavaram village. The Nallajarla police are investigating the case,” Eluru Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) G. V. G. Ashok Kumar told The Hindu.

The Anantapuram district police registered a case against 13 YSRCP activists, who sacrificed goats in public places and created panic in Raptadu Assembly Constituency as part of birthday celebrations of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Police launched investigation into the similar incidents reported in Kalyanadurgam, Singanamala and Uravakonda areas. A detailed investigation is on and more arrests are likely soon, the police said on Saturday.
