Several injured in dog attack in Keralam’s Thiruvananthapuram

Several people were injured when a domestic dog that ran amok in the early hours of Monday (September 21, 2026) attacked residents at Poonthura who were on their way to work and church.

According to reports, 15 people, including women and children, sustained injuries. They were attended to at various hospitals, including the Poonthura Community Health Centre and general hospital. One of them, who was seriously injured, was taken to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

It is not yet known whether the dog could be traced or if it was found to be rabid.
