As part of expanding its academic services, Sreenarayanaguru Open University is setting up a state-of-the-art public digital library that can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
This knowledge repository is being designed to provide 24-hour access to students, researchers, and the public.
Implemented on a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, the project will provide digital access to journals, theses, lecture notes, and study material for competitive examinations. In addition, the works of Sree Narayana Guru and other historical documents will be made available to everyone, including researchers and students.
The primary objective of the university is to ensure access to knowledge resources for all, including students from economically backward backgrounds. This digital library, expected to be completed within a year, will help enhance the university’s global presence in the academic field. The university has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) to select the agency for developing the digital library. After evaluating the proposals, a contract will be signed with the agency that submits the most suitable proposal.
