The Shakthi Team of police rescued a mother (55) and daughter (30), who were reportedly in a mentally disturbed condition, and admitted them to an NGO home in the Pedapadu area of Eluru district, said Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shiva Kishore.

“The locals alerted the police about the condition of the mother and her daughter. The team, led by Mahila police station Circle Inspector M. Subba Rao and SI Nagamani, rescued the two women and shifted them to an NGO home run by a missionary organisation,” Eluru Deputy Superintendent of Police D. Five women in mentally disturbed condition have been rescued and shifted to NGO Homes in the last few months, the SP said, adding, “Shakthi Team have so far traced 11 missing children and handed them over to their parents.”

“With the support of the locals, the teams were able to rescue women in distress and missing children and provide shelter for them,” the Deputy SP said, and he thanked the public for their support.
