Six-member gang breaks into Manikonda apartment, threatens resident with weapons

A six-member ‘chaddi gang’ allegedly broke into an apartment complex in Manikonda, Hyderabad, in the early hours of Sunday (September 27, 2026), stole valuables and threatened a resident with weapons when confronted, creating panic among residents. The fear stems from the fact that ‘chaddi gang’ has been notorious for serial offences where the gang members, half-naked, strike houses. The incident occurred at Flotilla Apartment under the Narsingi Police Station limits at around 3.30 a.m.

According to Narsingi Police Inspector D. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, the gang cut through the fencing surrounding the apartment complex to gain entry. The suspects then allegedly reached a locked flat in C Block through the staircase, broke into it and stole items worth around ₹80,000.

When a resident confronted the gang, the suspects allegedly attacked and threatened him with weapons before fleeing the apartment complex.

Narsingi police reached the spot after being informed about the incident and began examining CCTV footage from the premises to trace the suspects and reconstruct their movements.
