The Southern Railway has announced special services for hassle-free travel of candidates appearing for NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) on Sunday within Salem Division, which encompasses Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Udhagamandalam, Namakkal and Karur districts.
The Chinna Salem-Salem Junction (Train no. 06157) will leave Chinna Salem at 10 a.m. on Sunday and will reach Salem Junction by 11.20 a.m. The train will have stoppages at Attur at 10.19 a.m., Yethapur Road 10.30 a.m. and Minnampalli 10.44 a.m.
Likewise, Tirupattur-Salem Junction (Train no. 06158) will leave Tirupattur at 7.45 a.m. on Sunday and will reach Salem Junction at 10.15 a.m. The train will have stoppages at Kagankarai, Kunnathur, Samalpatti, Dasampatti, Doddampatti, Morappur, Thonganur, Buddireddipatti, Bommidi, Lokur, Danishpet, Thinnapatti and Karuppur.
Vehicular traffic at major level crossings will be closely regulated to prevent congestion. Help desks will be operated at Salem Junction, Erode Junction, Tiruppur Station, Coimbatore Junction, Udagamandalam Station, Namakkal Station and Karur Junction to assist candidates, a press release issued by the Salem Division said.
Railway staff, including Commercial Supervisors and RPF personnel, as well as Scouts and Guides will be deployed for the purpose. The train services will be closely monitored by the Divisional Control Office to ensure punctuality, the release said.
