A special camp for persons with disabilities will be held at Venkata Lakshmi Marriage Hall in Chellandiamman Nagar, Singanallur, on October 1.
The camp, organised by the district administration and the Department for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities in association with various government departments, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the East Zone of the Coimbatore Corporation.
The camp will facilitate medical assessment for persons seeking Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards and issuance of disability certificates. Those requiring surgery will be identified based on medical assessment. Facilities for new UDID registration and renewal will also be available.
Applicants seeking fresh registration should bring their Aadhaar and family cards, four passport-size photographs and earlier medical records, if available, along with the original documents and copies.
Applications will be received for various welfare measures, including educational and maintenance assistance, bank loans and assistive devices such as modified two-wheelers, battery-operated wheelchairs and hearing aids.
Representatives of various government departments will also receive applications for welfare schemes covering education, social welfare, rural development, employment and training, agriculture, transport and financial assistance.
Aadhaar enrolment and corrections, as well as changes to names and addresses in family cards, will also be facilitated.
Persons with disabilities from the East Zone of the Coimbatore Corporation have been requested to attend the camp and avail themselves of the services.
