Minister for Public Works and Tourism P.A. Mohamed Riyas on Friday (December 26, 2025) launched a speed boat service between Kozhikode beach and Beypore as part of the Tourism department’s coastal tourism promotion initiatives. The service will be conducted with stringent safety measures.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Riyas said the new boat service along the coastline would offer a novel experience for tourists. He added that boats with improved facilities would be launched soon.
Officials coordinating the project said as many as 13 persons would be able to board the speedboat at a time. Maintaining a safe speed, the boat would reach Beypore in 15 minutes, they added, noting that special packages for tourists would also be available.
District Police Chief (Kozhikode City) T. Narayanan, Kerala Tourism Infrastructure Limited chairman S.K. Sajeesh, port officer Hari Achutha Warrier, and District Tourism Promotion Council secretary T. Nikhil Das were present.
