Sri Ramachandra Institute marks Founder’s Day with awards, home-care launch

Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) celebrated its 41st Founder’s Day and University Day on September 18 and the 91st birth anniversary of its founder-chancellor, N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar.

As part of the celebrations, 38 gold medals were awarded to 28 students for meritorious performance.

S. Abhinaya, an MBBS student, received four gold medals. A total of 282 employees were presented cash awards in recognition of their contributions.

K. Balaji Singh, Dean, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, and Professor of General Surgery, and J.D. Roy Santhosham, Professor of Radiology, received lifetime achievement awards. Kannan Karthik Kailash, Senior Consultant, Spine and Orthopaedic Surgery, received the Mentoring Excellence Award.

Chancellor V.R. Venkataachalam inaugurated ‘SAHAYA’, a home-care service aimed at extending hospital-based healthcare to patients at home. The service offers nursing, critical care, physiotherapy, chronic disease management, elderly care and other support services following hospital discharge.
