Sribharat urges Gadkari to take up Visakhapatnam Beach Road development

Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat has urged Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to take up the development of Beach Road in Visakhapatnam to improve the city’s infrastructure and boost tourism.

Mr. Sribharat met Mr. Gadkari in New Delhi in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and discussed several infrastructure and industrial development proposals concerning Andhra Pradesh.

According to the release issued on Friday, Mr. Sribharat said that the discussions covered the proposed transfer of salt lands under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The MP stressed the importance to facilitate the transfer to promote port-led industrialisation and strengthen Visakhapatnam’s position as a major industrial and commercial hub.

Mr. Sribharat also raised the need to expand export opportunities for key agricultural and marine products from Andhra Pradesh, particularly chillies, tobacco and aquaculture products.

He further discussed the proposed Outer Ring Road (ORR) for Amaravati, the capital city. The proposed iconic bridge associated with the Polavaram Project, both major infrastructure projects important to the State’s long-term development.
