The verification and recount of postal ballot votes polled for the Sringeri Assembly Constituency during the elections of April-May 2023 — scheduled for Saturday, as per the directions of the Karnataka High Court — remained incomplete till late in the evening.

While Congress candidate T.D. Raje Gowda, who had won with a margin of 201 votes in 2023, demanded a halt to the recounting process citing discrepancies, supporters of BJP candidate D.N. Jeevaraj urged that the recount continue.
