Many students of Kuvempu University, staged a protest in Shivamogga on Wednesday, urging the Kuvempu University administration to resolve issues relating to discrepancies in digital evaluation, delay in declaring results, and delay in correcting errors on the University Unified College Management System (UUCMS).
Under the banner of the Shivamogga district unit of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the students assembled on the premises of Shivamogga Zilla Panchayat office and raised slogans against the administration.Â
The protesters alleged that there had been many discrepancies in the digital evaluation. Even after complaints the university had not resolved them. They said there had been numerous complaints regarding entries on the UUCMS, with several students shown as absent in examinations despite having appeared. They demanded that the administration declare results as per schedule.
They also pointed out that there had been a delay in declaring the results of re-evaluation, and demanded that the university reimburse the re-evaluation fee collected from students in cases where scores varied after re-evaluation.
The protesters submitted a memorandum to Prof. R. Thimmarayappa, Registrar (Evaluation). NSUI district president Vijay Kumar, working president Ravi Katikere, city president Ravi Kumar, and others led the protest.
