Summer rains drench forest areas of Coimbatore, reduce fire risks

The summer showers that hit several parts of Coimbatore district on April 30, 2026, (Thursday) brought relief to forest fire prevention activities being carried out by the Forest Department.

Except Madukkarai forest range, parts of the remaining six ranges, namely Boluvampatti, Coimbatore, Periyanaickenpalayam, Karamadai, Mettupalayam and Sirumugai, received rain.
