The Tirupati (West) police on Friday found the body of V. Sardar Guguloth, a suspended professor of Sri Venkateswara University, inside his car parked near Alipiri here.
As the body was in a highly decomposed state, the police suspect that he had died at least three days earlier. Mr. Guguloth was suspended about three months ago on disciplinary grounds for allegedly remaining irregular to classes after becoming addicted to alcohol.
Local residents noticed a foul smell emanating from the parked vehicle and alerted the police, who force-opened the car and recovered the body.
He is survived by his wife Meenabai, a school assistant in Chittoor, and two daughters.
