Minister for Minorities Welfare A.M. Shahjahan on Wednesday claimed that the Tamil Nadu Budget satisfied all sections of society and was welcomed by all.
Speaking to journalists at the Tiruchi airport, Mr. Shahjahan said the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government’s budget has been prepared with the aim of eliminating corruption and bribery. The announcements made in the budget were conceived after detailed assessment and research with a 10-year long-term vision and plan along with ways and means of their execution, he said.
Dismissing criticisms of the budget by the Opposition parties, Mr. Shahjahan said it was usual for them to criticise the budget presented by the ruling party. The budget contains new announcements for every government department, he said. Replying to a question, Mr. Shahjahan said the State government was making efforts to increase revenue and reduce debt.
