The Assembly polls passed off without any untoward incidents in the eight Assembly segments in Tiruppur district, on Thursday (April 23, 2026), clocking the highest ever turnout, so far, of 88.56%.
The polling process was brisk till noon and slowed down during the subsequent hours of intense heat, and picked up again to a small extent from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
