Outgoing Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin retained his Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni Assembly constituency, defeating TVK’s D. Selvam on Monday (May 4, 2026). As outgoing Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin lost his seat, the responsibility of leading the party may fall on Mr. Udhayanidhi, who has won the seat for the second time.
D. Selvam, who lost the seat to Mr. Udhayanidhi, is a former Congressman, who joined the TVK before the run up to Assembly polls.
