The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Sunday announced the appointment of new district presidents and general secretaries. A significant number of them belonged to the Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and Minorities.
Out of the 25 Parliamentary president posts, 14 had been allocated to the BCs, SCs, STs, and Minorities, five to women, and four were sitting MLAs.
High priority was given to loyalists and those who rendered dedicated services to the organisation for decades. The appointments were made through a democratic process, on the basis of opinions and feedback from the grassroots level.
