Telangana rain forecast puts officials on alert

In view of rain forecast in Telangana over three days from Wednesday (September 23, 2026), Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy directed officials to be swift in responding to grievances of people. 

The situation in flood prone, low-lying areas, rivulets and steams has to be constantly monitored. Officials were directed to be prepared to shift people to safer areas when necessary. 

Safety measures have to be taken with a focus on Pedapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts. 

A round-the-clock control room with a toll free number has to be set up in all districts to be accessible people in need, he said. People were urged not to step out unless necessary.
