Tenkasi district says ‘no’ to TVK and BJP; reposes faith in DMK and AIADMK

While neighbouring Tirunelveli district gleefully welcomed actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam by electing 3 candidates of the 2-year-old party to the Assembly, the Tenkasi district, after snubbing the TVK and BJP, has reposed its faith in the two Dravidian majors – DMK and the AIADMK.

While the DMK bagged 4 of the 5 constituencies of this district – Alangulam, Tenkasi, Kadayanallur and Vasudevanallur (SC) segments – the AIADMK won Sankarankovil (SC) constituency, a traditional bastion of Edappadi K. Palaniswami-led party.
