The ‘Thaimaaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam’ inaugurated in Krishnagiri will cover a total of 2,899 infants born in Government Hospitals and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the district. According to the administration, 1,379 babies will receive one-gram gold ring at the Government Medical College Hospital in Krishnagiri, 870 babies at the Government Hospital in Hosur, and 650 babies at Denkanikottai Taluk Hospital, over the coming weeks. Earlier, Krishnagiri Collector C. Dinesh Kumar inaugurated the scheme.
To avoid overcrowding, 25 babies were accommodated in the forenoon and in the afternoon.
In Dharmapuri, a total of 2,101 infants born in Government Hospitals and government PHCs since June 22, 2026 will receive gold rings under the scheme.
Earlier, Collector V. Saravanan inaugurated the scheme at the Government Medical Hospital in Dharmapuri. While the scheme entails a cumulative annual allocation of ₹775.183 crore, the beneficiary shall avail themselves of the scheme for her new born, provided she is registered under the PICME (Pregnancy and Infant Cohort Monitoring and Evaluation) system and has a Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) ID. The mother must holds one of the e-KYC registered documents, such as Aadhaar card, family card, voter id, address proof, labour welfare board card, or post office issued address proof.
According to the administration, 2,101 babies born in government hospitals since the cut-off date of June 22 will be covered over the next two weeks. The rings will be issued in the Government Medical College Hospital in Dharmapuri, and at the government hospitals in Harur and Pennagaram. Mothers may contact their respective Village Health Nurses (VHNs) to register their names to receive the gold ring.
