The Anjaneyar idol adorned with 1.08 lakh vada for Hanuman Jayanti celebrations in Namakkal on Friday.

Thousands of devotees thronged the Anjaneyar Temple in Namakkal on Hanuman Jayanti on Friday.
The temple is famous among the devotees, as the idol of Hanuman, which is 18 feet high, is one of the tallest in the country. In the early hours of Friday, special pujas were performed for Anjaneyar and the idol was adorned with 1.08 lakh vada, prepared by 20 priests. Likewise, after a special abhishekam in the afternoon, the Anjaneyar idol was decorated with a golden shield.
From the wee hours of Friday, thousands of devotees waited in queue and offered prayers. Devotees from across Tamil Nadu, including Namakkal, Salem, Karur, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Dharmapuri, came in large numbers. The temple administration provided two free darshan ways and a paid darshan way for the devotees.
Around 450 police personnel were deployed in and around the temple. Traffic movement was stopped on Friday on Namakkal Fort Road and Park Road. There are 59 CCTV cameras in the temple and the police additionally installed 20 CCTV cameras.
