The Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) of the police, Coimbatore city, on Tuesday arrested three persons for possessing 4.3 kg of ganja.
The arrested have been identified as P. Manimaran (28) of Srinivasa Nagar at Podanur, K. Navarathinavel (39) of Pillayarpuram at Sundarapuram, and D. Harishankar (28) of Sungam.
The PEW team headed by Inspector Miadit Mano apprehended the trio with the contraband near Sungam junction in the city. The police seized a car and a two-wheeler, which the accused used to transport ganja.
The PEW registered a case against them under Sections 8(C) read with 20(b)(ii)(B) 25 and 29 (1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and arrested them. The jurisdictional court sent them to judicial remand.Â
