The Khammam Two Town police on Sunday arrested BRS city unit president P. Nagaraju and his two associates for allegedly obstructing the police on bandobust duty, injuring One Town Inspector of Police, Karunakar, during the BRS protest rally.
According to the police, the protesters violated the stipulated conditions for the protest rally and staged a dharna at Yellandu crossroads during the demonstration, leading to traffic disruption.
They obstructed the police from discharging their bandobust duty and created ruckus when the latter tried to prevent them from burning the effigy of the government, police said.
The injured CI, who suffered a fracture in hand, was shifted to a local private hospital for treatment.
The arrested trio was sent to remand.
Further investigation is under way.
