Three LPG cylinders exploded at an allegedly illegal gas storage shed in Kaggadasapura in east Bengaluru on Wednesday, triggering panic among residents and students at a nearby school.
The incident occurred at a makeshift shed where many commercial, domestic, and mini LPG cylinders were allegedly stored. The police suspect that illegal gas refilling activities may have been carried out on the premises.
No injuries were reported in the incident. However, residents panicked after hearing a loud blast, followed by a fire. The impact of the explosion reportedly damaged window panes of a neighbouring building.
The police have registered a case and launched an investigation. They are looking for the owner of the house to ascertain the circumstances leading to the blast and verify whether illegal gas storage or refilling was being carried out on the premises.
