A private hospital in Tiruchi has come under the scanner of the Maharashtra police in connection with an alleged illegal kidney transplant racket.
A police team from Maharashtra landed in Tiruchi a couple of days ago and went to the hospital to conduct inquiries in connection with the alleged racket. However, the team did not pick up anyone, police sources said.
The team from Maharashtra came to Tiruchi based on an investigation conducted by the police of that State, during which the alleged involvement of the Tiruchi hospital is said to have come to light. The Maharashtra police claimed to have found a “major illegal money-lending operation,” which led to the unearthing of a large-scale illegal kidney transplant racket.
