Tirunelveli SP appeals to principals, professors to encourage students to make use of District Police Library

Superintendent of Police Vishwesh Balasubramnaiam Shastri held a meeting with the principals and professors of various colleges at the District Police Office here on Thursday to explain to them about the recently established District Police Library for the benefit of students preparing for competitive examinations.

Mr. Shastri said the candidates preparing for competitive examinations being conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Railway Recruitment Board, Banking Services Recruitment Board etc. could make use of the District Police Library, where study materials from almost all topics had been kept for reference.

Experts from different subjects would take classes for the candidates during the weekends and mock tests would also be conducted so that the candidates could assess their performance and take corrective measures with the help of the experts.

“The purpose behind establishing this facility is to help candidates from disadvantaged background. Hence, the principals and the teachers of colleges should share this information with their students so that more number of candidates will visit the District Police Library to prepare themselves for the competitive examination without spending a rupee,” the SP said.

The SP also solicited suggestions from the principals and the professors on for equipping the library with better facilities and study materials so as to make it more sought-after study circle by the candidates.

Principals and the professors of 15 colleges within Tirunelveli City participated in the meeting.
