On the occasion of Thai Poosam on Sunday (February 1, 2026), Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that the Tiruvottiyur highway would henceforth be called ‘Vallalar Nedunchalai’. In a social media post, Mr. Stalin also announced that a Vallalar conference would be held at Ekambaranathar school in Kipauk on February 15.
Mr. Stalin also listed out the various measures undertaken by his government to honour the legacy of Vallalar.
