A tourist from Madurai, who was trapped between huge rocks at the Pondy Marina beach on Saturday evening, was rescued by a team of police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
The police said the tourist, Vaishnavi, 26, visited the Pondy Marina beach in the evening. She was taking a video on her mobile phone when she accidentally slipped and fell into the gap between two rocks. Hearing her cries for help, a team of police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel reached the spot.
The team with the help of a crane carefully pulled the rocks using ropes and rescued Vaishnavi. She suffered injuries on her legs and was admitted to the Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital.
