Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is constructing Sri Venkateswara Swamy temples in several States, including Telangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam and Karnataka, TTD trust board chairman B.R. Naidu said.

In Telangana, permission has been granted for temples in Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s Kodangal constituency and Khammam, while construction of a temple in Karimnagar is expected to begin soon, he said.

Mr. Naidu laid the foundation stone for the TTD’s Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple at Allipuram in Khammam town on Monday. A bhoomi puja was performed under the aegis of Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamy on the occasion. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao was present.

Mr. Naidu said the Telangana government had allocated land worth about ₹100 crore in Khammam for the TTD’s temple. Under TTD norms, local devotees are required to contribute 25% of the funds needed for temple construction, he added.

He said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had laid the foundation stone for construction of an integrated township at a cost of ₹2,700 crore at Alipiri in Tirupati. The township is designed to accommodate around 20,000 people during peak pilgrim periods.

Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy said the proposed TTD temple in Khammam, while serving as a spiritual centre promoting humanity and moral values, would bring the divine presence of Lord Venkateswara to the town and inspire people to follow the path of dharma.

Mr. Nageswara Rao thanked the TTD chairman and officials for granting permission for the temple in Khammam. Organisers announced the names of donors who had pledged contributions towards the construction of the temple.
