Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has opened its account in Madurai district in a big way.
The party won in eight of the 10 Assembly constituencies across Madurai district in the 2026 Assembly election. Except for Melur and Thirumangalam, TVK has swept the polls in Madurai district.
AIADMK, which won eight of the 10 constituencies in the 2016 Assembly election and five constituencies in the 2021 Assembly election, suffered a huge setback. The party failed to register a win in Madurai district in the 2026 Assembly election and was pushed to a distant third in some Assembly constituencies.
