Police here have registered a case against two persons who cheated a retired teacher of ₹16 lakh by promising to get a government job for his son in Karaikudi.
The police said Subramanian, a retired teacher residing in Pari Nagar, Karaikudi, was promised by Ganesan, a resident of the same area, and Muthukrishnan, a resident of Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, that they would get his son a job as Principal’s Assistant at Chettinad Government Polytechnic College.
Believing their words, Mr. Subramanian gave them ₹16 lakh in 2024. However, they did not get the job as promised, nor did they return the money to him.
Based on a complaint filed by Mr. Subramanian, Sivagangai District Crime Branch Police have registered a case against Ganesan and Muthukrishnan and are investigating.
