Vachanasahitya Mandara Foundation will release two books on Vachana literature at a programme to be held on the outskirts of Hubballi on Sunday.
Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Thursday, chairman of the foundation Vijaykumar Kammar said that his book, Vachana Sahitya Mattu Shastriya Sangeeta Parampara and Anupama Patil’s work Basavadi Sharanara Jeevana Moulyagalu will be released at Anubhava Mantapa, Veeramma Farm House located near the railway bridge on Gadag Road in Hubballi at 10.30 a.m.
The foundation also runs a library in Tumakuru with a collection of works related to Vachana and folk literature.
Mr. Kammar said that president of Dharwad Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat Lingaraj Angadi and president of Ganakaranga, Dharwad, Siddarama Hipparagi will release the books at the event to be attended by the former MLA Mohan Limbikai, progressive farmer Murugeshappa Yaklaspur and Shambhu Hegadal.
The former Minister for Cooperation and Forest S.S. Patil will preside over the function. Writer and vocalist Mrutyunjay Shettar and Sunitha Moorshilli will speak on the books.
Advocate and event coordinator Girish Patil, author Anupama Patil and others were present.
