Representatives of the U.S. embassy visited Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) campus here on Thursday as part of the ongoing project to improve employability skills in students.
It may be recalled that the American government had deputed Angela Susan Bakula to the varsity in August 2025 as part of the English language fellow project to teach students communication skills and academic writing.
As she has been staying in Tirupati and engaging with the students and faculty members in conducting the classes and workshops, the embassy representatives from the Consulate General Hyderabad, Shweta Khanna and Nausheen Ali, reached Tirupati to appreciate the initiative.
SPMVV Vice-Chancellor V. Uma, Registrar R. Usha and Dean (International Relations) P. Vijayalakshmi and the point of contact P. Hari Padma Rani explained the project details to the duo.
Recalling her academic engagement with teaching communicative English and improving the learning skills in students on the campus, Ms. Bakula also narrated how she enjoyed taking part in the other cultural and non-academic events, both inside and outside the campus. “Participation taught me many things on the cultural and social practices of Andhra Pradesh and India,” she said.
The varsity officials thanked the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and the US Consulate General in Hyderabad for offering the project to university.
