Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar on Saturday, February 7, oversaw the process of destroying defective silencers seized by Manipal police in the last six months.
The Manipal police in Udupi district on Saturday used a bulldozer to destroy defective silencers seized by them recently.
In a press note, the police said as many as 120 defective silencers, used in motorcycles to create more sound, were seized by the Manipal police. They were seized during the special vehicle checking drive held for the last six months. The police registered 120 cases and collected â‚ą 1.05 lakh as penalty.
On Saturday, under the supervision of Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, police used a bulldozer to destroy the seized silencers. Manipal Inspector Mahesh Prasad was present.
