Vadamalayan Hospitals, a super speciality tertiary care centre, has launched an advanced surgical robotic system at its Dindigul hospital here on Friday.
Speaking at the inaugural function, chairman and Managing Director V. Pugalagiri said that the objective of launching such an advanced facility was to provide a cutting-edge robotic surgery which would not only be affordable, but accessible to the people of Dindigul region.
“Our mission has always been to bring the best of global medical technology to our community. The launch of the surgical robot here is a milestone in that journey – ensuring our patients receive world-class surgical care without having to travel to metro cities.,” he added.

Dr. M. Ramalingam, a pioneer in the field of Urology launched the surgical robot in the presence of SS Innovations vice president Srinivasa Reddy, Vadamalayan Hospital Director (Medical Services) Dr S Sundararajan, Surgical gastroenterologist Srinivasa Mani, General Surgeon S K Logo Vijayan, Cardio thoracic surgeon Dr Anbu, Urologists R Chandra Murali, J. L.Vairavan, M. Priyadharshini, .D. Geetha-Gynaecologist D Geetha and general surgeon C.Subramani and others.
Speakers hailed the Vadamalayan Hospitals for the new facility and said that it was one of the first hospitals in the region to offer surgical robotic technology, which offers immense benefits to patients including higher precision, 3D magnification, minimal pain, minimal blood loss, smaller scars, faster recovery and early discharge.
The robotic system will support a wide range of specialities including Cardio Thoracic, Urology, Gynaecology, Gastro Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and General Surgery. Medical Administrator Dr K Naveen proposed a vote of thanks.
