The annual Vasanthotsavam was performed amid scenic setting resembling the Seshachalam hills at the Friday Garden in Sri Padmavati Ammavari temple in Tiruchanur on Thursday.
Traditionally celebrated as a spring festival in the hottest month of the Hindu almanac, the ritual also marks a summer retreat for the Goddess. The ‘Sukravaraputhota’ (Friday Garden) was decorated with hanging fruits and flowers resembling the Seshachalam forest, the home of her consort, Lord Venkateswara.
