The Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Monday arrested three drivers working for Gem Granites Veeramani for alleged abetment in connection with the sexual offences cases against the industrialist, the police said.

Four cases had already been registered against Veeramani, and another case was registered on October 2. Investigation is under way in all five cases. During the investigation, the police identified Veeramani’s drivers — Lazar, Parthiban, and Babu — as allegedly having assisted him by bringing minor girls to him.

The police said Lazar had worked for Veeramani for 23 years, while Babu had been employed for eight years. Parthiban was working as his driver. The police also conducted searches at the residences of the three accused in connection with their alleged role in facilitating Veeramani’s offences. Eight mobile phones and 55 documents were seized. Further investigation is on
