The father of a youth accused in the Venjaramoodu murder case has approaches the Kerala High Court seeking a stay on the release of Kaalam Paranja Katha, a movie based on the case in which a youth named Afan was charged with murdering five of his family members and an attempt to murder his mother. His father, Abdul Raheem, contended that the trial of the case is not yet complete and that his son’s right to a fair trial would be affected if the movie is released when the trial is pending. The injury this could cause cannot be undone even if his son is ultimately acquitted, he claimed.
