Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy on Wednesday (July 1) urged people to view a crime as a crime and not entangle it with life.

He was speaking after inaugurating Patrika Dinacharane, a programme organised by Dakshina Kannada Union of Working Journalists and Mangaluru Press Club here. Often, people mix business, politics, religion and other issues with a crime, thereby giving a completely different colour to the incident. That should not happen, and the incident should merely be seen as a crime, he noted.

The Commissioner noted that of late, the media in Mangaluru and Dakshina Kannada appear to be treading a steady path, not attracted by “breaking news”. They have been cautious and are reporting facts, he observed.
