DMK leader and Minister for Natural Resources S. Regupathy on Sunday said Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder and actor Vijay had announced to contest in two Assembly constituencies for the forthcoming election without knowing from which seat he would win.
Mr. Regupathy told presspersons in Pudukottai that Mr. Vijay would surely face defeat in both constituencies. Mr. Vijay had announced on Sunday that he would contest from Perambur and Tiruchi East assembly constituencies.
To a question, Mr. Regupathy said the DMK did not consider TVK as a party and added the contest was between the DMK and the AIADMK in the upcoming election.
Asked about three Assembly seats in Pudukottai district having been allotted to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) this time, Mr. Regupathy exuded confidence that Pudukottai would be the fort of the DMK and the party win in all the six Assembly seats in the district. He said the opportunity given to 60 new faces by the DMK party leader in the fortcoming election was done with the intention to motivate and cheer them.
