Visakhapatnam gears up for International Fleet Review and MILAN 26

Ahead of much anticipated International Fleet Review (IFR), Exercise MILAN 26 and Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (Conclave of Chiefs) scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam during February 2026, District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad conducted a meeting with the officials from the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) at the Collectorate here on Wednesday.

A team of officers from Eastern Naval Command, led by Captain Akhilesh Manor, presented the overview of all activities and emphasised upon the pivotal role of Visakhapatnam district administration for the success of these grand international events. Action points of all stakeholders towards preparation of the city for the event were discussed. He stated that IFR and MILAN 26 will witness the confluence of Naval Ships/ Chiefs of Navies/ Senior Delegations from across the world, besides senior national political leadership including Andhra Pradesh Governor, Defence Minister and Chief Minister. He further stated that the President would be the chief guest for the Fleet Review and is expected to review over 70 ships from India and Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs).

Exercise MILAN, the biennial event hosted by the Indian Navy, would include multiple engagements with very senior delegations from numerous FFCs. The International City Parade (ICP) on the RK Beach would see an operational Demo and participation of Marching Contingents, Cultural Performances, Tableaus, NCC/ SCC/ schoolchildren etc. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh will be the chief guest for the International City Parade, the officials informed.
