Vizag-bound Air India Express flight cancelled at Vijayawada

An Air India Express flight bound for Visakhapatnam from Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada was cancelled due to a technical snag late on Thursday (December 18, 2025). The plane was taxiing when the pilot identified a problem with the engine and returned to the bay, according to sources.

Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, who is scheduled to unveil the statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Vizianagaram on Friday (December 19, 2025) evening, was travelling by that flight.

He is said to have arrived in Visakhapatnam on the Vande Bharat Express.

Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu and MLC and senior leader of YSR Congress Party Botcha Satyanarayana were also travelling by that flight, the sources added.
