Vizag zoo announces birth of animals and birds

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) has announced the birth of several animals and birds over the past few weeks, as part of their breeding and conservation efforts. Six Emu chicks, a Black Swan, two Sambar Deer, two Nilgais, and three Black Bucks have been added to the animal kingdom at the city zoo.

IGZP Curator G. Mangamma said that Black Swan and Emu eggs were hatched in specially designed artificial incubators that maintained optimal temperature and humidity levels. The Black Swan cygnet and emu chicks now are under the close supervision of the veterinary team, ensuring careful monitoring of their growth and health. These births mark a significant milestone in the zoo’s ongoing efforts in conservation breeding and species management, she said.
