The Coimbatore district administration has urged voters to add or correct entries and verify their details in the electoral roll through special camps held at all polling booths as part of the Special Intensive Revision.
Special camps were held on Saturday across the district for eligible voters, including those turning 18 on January 1, 2026, individuals whose names were missing, and those seeking corrections. Across all constituencies, a total of 14,464 Form 6 applications were received, comprising 6,986 from males, 7,443 from females, and 48 from third-gender applicants.
Form 6 was used for new entries and corrections, Form 7 for requesting the removal of a name from the electoral roll or raising objections, and Form 8 for address updates, corrections in existing entries, marking persons with disabilities, or requesting a replacement voter ID if the previous one was lost.
A senior official said that around 1 lakh voters whose parents’ details were missing would be issued notices and asked to provide the required information in person at the designated electoral offices.
Voters could also verify their inclusion in the electoral roll by sending an SMS to 1950, visiting https://voter.eci.gov.in, or checking with Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
The camps are scheduled to continue on December 28 and January 3–4, 2026, across the district.
