Tiruvuru police of the NTR Commissionerate on Tuesday (February 03, 2026) arrested a woman and her accomplice for allegedly extorting money from a man by sharing photographs of unknown girls. The police identified the arrested individuals as K. Renuka and B. Vijay.
Circle Inspector K. Giri Babu said that Renuka has a rowdy sheet at the Tiruvuru police station. The accused had allegedly sent photos of some girls to a person and trapped him. They asked the victim to come to a hotel, where they extorted money from the complainant.
“Renuka laid a honey trap and invited the victim to a hotel. Vijay, who was already waiting at the hotel posed as a police officer and threatened to book a case and snatched a gold ring and ₹5,000 from the victim,” the CI told The Hindu on Tuesday.
Both the accused were arrested, and a case has been registered, Mr. Giri Babu said.
