A woman was allegedly murdered by her brother-in-law in Thogalagallu village of Aspari mandal in Kurnool district, late on Sunday night.
The deceased, Golla Gangavathi (45), was accused of killing her husband Golla Ahobilam and was recently released on bail. According to police, Gangavathi had allegedly gotten close to another person, Chennakesava, of Karnataka.
In September this year, Ahobilam was attacked and killed near Thogalagallu village while he was returning home. Police arrested Gangavathi and Chennakesava following an investigation and they were later released on bail.
Ahobilam’s brother, Peddayya, reportedly bore grudge against his sister-in-law and police suspect he might have killed the woman to avenge the death of his brother. Gangavathi was attacked brutally with a pestle leading to her instant death. Police launched a search to nab the accused.
