The Department of Visual Communication of The American College conducted a photography competition, ‘KLIKO 2026’, on Wednesday (August 19, 2026) as part of the World Photography Day celebration.

While addressing the students, award-winning independent photographer Sridhar Subramaniyam encouraged them to inculcate the ideals of storytelling through photographs.

Photo series of different tribes of southern India were shown and explained to the students. He emphasised the significance of capturing the emotions well with appropriate framing, and not stressing the quality and other technical aspects.

The competition witnessed a huge participation from other departments of the college. The department displayed the best photographs of more than 100 students in the main hallway. H. Subramaniam from Chemistry Department and Saravanan and Yogeswaran from Media Technology Department were the winners of the competition. Head of the Department Shylaja was present.
